I began painting animals partly for the want of something different, partly to complete a circle of jests regarding pink elephants. As it turned out, the joke was on me, as beasts and birds of all sorts caught my muse up in their stampede and proceeded to populate my gallery.
My painted safari has been both amusing and frustrating. Having dedicated years to painting people, "Sun King"--who was born in two swift days--remains my most popular piece! I can only laugh and hope that at least the majority of the cards for my Nature Tarot Deck (very much a work in progress, with sixty-odd cards to go!) will approach his caliber.
