"Pride VI"
11 x 14"
Acrylic on canvas
The model from the first "Pride" and several other friends suggested turning the idea into a series, so here we are! B., my first model, asked several friends to be involved in the series, and everyone agreed to meet as a group at my studio for reference photos. Each arrived as they wanted to be portrayed, right down to this model's painted tears and heart. He was so comfortable modeling--he even arrived shirtless to preserve the paint--and chatting with me, a total stranger, that I was surprised when he asked to remain anonymous. He wasn't out yet, hence the painted tears.
Love is love, and people are people. Please, be gentle with each other--we've all stories unseen.
