The remaking of self, forever and always.

Like "Persephone," "Phoenix" was an attempt to rescue an abandoned canvas that had already seen two failed painting attempts. Since I wasn't risking a new canvas, I was willing to let the idea wander where it felt like rather than planning it out fully like usual. Thus "Phoenix," in its roundabout way, became exactly what it should be. My thanks to B. Samani-Sprunk for modeling.
