I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine:
There sleeps Titania sometime of the night,
Lull'd in these flowers with dances and delight;
And there the snake throws her enamell'd skin,
Weed wide enough to wrap a fairy in.
--Oberon, A Midsummer Night's Dream,Act II, Scene I, 249-256.
I fit in as many of the above mentioned flowers as I could, but stopped short of making the piece too busy. The gorgeous model, I owe to Lockstock and her reference photo. The wings are courtesy of Sooper Deviant's beautiful butterfly. All references were used with permission.
